About Kimie

Born and raised in Kyoto, the old capital city of Japan, Kimie has always strived to find new and exciting ways to integrate her background into art and new media since 2006 when she started as an intern in the comic book industry. Since then, her focus shifted to games in 2009, and she has been involved in more than 20 game projects. Yet, she remains committed to being creative and original in today’s digital world.

Being a big believer in user-centered design, her goal is to create intuitive UI/UX experiences for a wide audience with diverse backgrounds, age groups, and cultures. This naturally makes her a strong advocate for making games accessible to anyone. Regarding visualization, she believes that great design starts with a solid idea and should be simple, appealing, and effective when visually communicating with the audience.

Kimie is currently working as a Senior UI Artist at Turtle Rock Studios. When she is not working, she is busy raising two kids with her husband Masa.
